Czech Hackathon in Prague

Jiri Tobolka

You may be aware that GoodData engineering is based in the Czech Republic. In October, there was a special developer event in Prague that GoodData co-organized together with some other companies like Kerio, Socialbakers, Geewa and Inmite.

Why did we do this? We felt that we needed to give something back to the local developer community. We wanted to support local engineers and share some of our knowledge with them. So we decided to be in one place and hack all weekend no matter if it was day or late night.

We received huge support from our hosts TechSquare. They provided everything needed to be productive, and all the participants had their full attention during the weekend. Hackers did a great job using world class technologies like Angular.js to create kick-ass cloud/mobile apps.

Congratulations to winners!! Great job!

1st place - BetaMuffin

BetaMuffin is open community of developers. We test each other’s apps for both Android and iOS. BetaMuffin is also a tool to simplify the whole testing process on various devices including cool certificate handling.

2nd place - Knedlo

Do you read an online news server? Do you read it on different places and different devices? Like at work on a notebook, at home on a tablet or in public transportation on a cell phone? Aren’t you tired of being provided with articles you’ve already read or you’re not even interested in?

Knedlo is different - surf through articles on any of your devices, read what you like, swipe out what you don’t like and save what you would like to read later. It remembers and analyses all of that and presents you only the articles you haven’t read and you would be interested in. For each topic there are multi-leveled badges to earn and you may become a badge hero among your friends!

3rd place - Zeitgeist

Jiří Šebele
Michaela Horakova
Jan Rohan
Emanuel Buzek
